Why is it important to buy from a reputable dealer when purchasing your RV?
Congratulations on deciding that now is the time to look at buying an RV! You’ll be faced with many decisions throughout this process, and it’s important that you take this time to understand a little more about how this industry works…
One of the most important things to know is that an RV is never “perfect” when it comes out of the Factory.
All of the manufacturers that we work with have high standards in the manufacturing process – but these units are not built with robots (as in the car industry), on large conveyer belts.
RV’s are built by individuals and are prone to factory defects.
But when you buy from Recreation World RV, please know that we are here to work with you to make sure that any and all issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
When a unit arrives on the lot, we do a full inspection (PDI – pre-delivery inspection) – there is no extra charge for this, it is part of our internal process to make sure that a unit has arrived safely from the manufacturing plant. This process takes anywhere from 4 to 12 hours for a Technician to complete.
During this process, if we find any “errors”, we are able to address them immediately with our Partners.
However, much like when you take possession of a new home, some defects are only found when an RV is actually being used.
And unfortunately, Murphy’s Law says that you are going to find some of the defects when you are far enough away that they can’t be fixed until after you’re done with your first holiday…
That is why, when you purchase from a reputable dealer, you can have faith that we will work with you to make sure that any and all issues are resolved.
All of the units that we sell come with a Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty.
Many of the components on RV’s have different warranties, with different manufacturers (for example, the microwave will be covered under a different warranty).
But the dedicated team in our Service and Warranty Department will work on your behalf to manage the issues after your new purchase.
You will also be presented with a very important option to add to your new RV: The Extended Warranty which covers all mechanical issues for an extra 5-year period.
It is, however, meant to help you understand “why things are the way they are”, and to give you peace-of-mind in knowing that we at Recreation World RV are here to help you.
Buying a new RV is more like buying a new home where there will be adjustments and defects in various places.
You basically have a mini-home on wheels!
Your manufacturer’s warranty is a short-term guarantee that they’ll fix the little problems you find right away.
Your extended warranty is a long-term guarantee that you’re protected as you use your new RV for the next 5 years.
